When it comes to travel suits, everyone’s after something slightly different. Some want comfort, soft shoulders, light breathable fabrics, a bit of stretch. Others are after simplicity: one suit that goes with everything, whatever the season or dress code. Then there are those after something rugged, with big pockets and stain resistance.

You’ll often find travel suits come with smaller lapels, a touch of elastane, maybe even a hidden drawstring at the waist, all design choices intended to make them more versatile and unassuming than your usual suit. But these same features can also be a turn-off for your average menswear purist.

Of course, there are no rules about what you wear when travelling. A regular suit can absolutely do the job. You just might not get the benefits that come with something purpose built for the road.

Below are some of the best suits designed to make your journey a little easier and a lot more stylish.
